WAIT, WHAT ????
WHO ARE WE ANYWAY?

AN EZ WAY INTO THE WOODS

Bicycles are fun, efficient, good for your health and truly the best way to move around our world. We see so much more when we move through it at 15 mph.

Recent advances in electric motor and battery technology have made it easier for more people to afford them.

Direct shipping via the internet has allowed more companies to provide ebikes to the market, helping to bring prices down even further.

We purchased 3 bikes last year, online and had them shipped directly to us, using UPS. We were a bit surprised how heavy the package was, but it was manageable.

It took a couple hours to get all of the parts and pieces in place. The instructions told us what we needed to do to pout the bike together. What the instructions didn’t tell us about are the minor details to align and set the brakes, gear derailer hand grips and other important setup and troubleshooting steps, some of which we were aware of, as avid bike owners and some we were learning as spanking new e-bike owners.

We realized that buying bikes this way is a bit of a risk. We read the reviews extensively and determined that Heybike was the team we wanted to partner with to share the e-bike experience with our friends and families.

But even the best customer service can break down when relying on replacement parts using a supply chain that stretches back to Taiwan.

The best case scenario, had us waiting on a part that would take three additional weeks to arrive.

Returning to the white board, our business model evolved. We would purchase 20 bikes at the end of the winter and have them shipped using a local logistics company, to our wee little virtual mobile shop in South Cle Elum Washington.

We assembled 15 bikes, adjusted all of the settings during testing and lined them up foir a final safety inspection.

We would keep five bikes as a parts backup supply in the event that something was twisted, bent or simply not in the box.

The Heybike track record is almost perfect, but we are all about making the experience and close to perfect as possible.  We have reduced our risk in looking silly, promising a e-bike that is perfect, but slightly increasing our overhead for parts.
Because of our super-efficient shipping and logistics, we are able to compete with Amazon and other companies with our pricing and allow for our friends to just get on a bike, adjust the seat and handlebar height, and ride.

So here we are a year and a half into our ebike experience with a couple simple thoughts.

* Don’t buy a bike until you sit on it, real life experience trumps all of the videos our friends have posted on Youtube.

* Buy a bike that does what you want it to whether commuting, camping, replacing your golf cart or riding quietly out to your tree stand.

*Plan ahead if you can and remember we have 20 trail tested bikes that you can choose from and ride on the same day.
